  • 6 tablespoons salted butter
  • 5 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 1/2 lemon, thinly sliced
  • 8 oz pasta (such as farfalle)
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 oz fresh basil
  • 1/2 cup lightly toasted pine nuts

Instructions

  1. In a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add sliced lemon and minced garlic; cook for about 5 minutes until golden. Remove from heat and add 2 more tablespoons of butter.
  2. Boil water in a large pot and cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain well.
  3. Combine hot pasta with the garlic-butter mixture in the skillet, stirring thoroughly.
  4. Add remaining butter and Parmesan cheese; stir on low-medium heat until cheese melts evenly.
  5. Mix in half of the chopped basil for flavor.
  6. Serve topped with remaining basil, pine nuts, and cracked black pepper.
