  • 4 pounds baby back pork ribs
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper (cracked)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder (or cayenne pepper – optional)
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil (divided)
  • 2 cups barbecue sauce
  • 3 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. Remove the tough membrane from the ribs and place them on a lined baking sheet.
  3. Mix garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, pepper, cumin, and chili powder in a bowl. Coat the ribs with this seasoning mix and drizzle with olive oil.
  4. Cover with foil and bake for 2 hours.
  5. In the last five minutes of cooking, combine barbecue sauce ingredients in a bowl.
  6. Remove foil from ribs, apply barbecue sauce generously on top, and increase oven temperature to 460°F (240°C). Bake uncovered for another 10 minutes.
  7. Switch to broil on medium-high for about 3 minutes until edges caramelize.
  8. Allow ribs to rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
